Well EC had quite a large 'role' in the episode, singing fragments of two songs (not his own) and with lots of lines of dialog with Frazier and the other characters. He probably had a full 7-8 minutes of screen time in a 30 min episode. Neither the song snippets nor the acting was very good, but its still nice to see Elvis on TV. I'm not sure if this publicity strategy of showing his face anywhere he's invited (movies, tv shows, awards, magazine columns, compilation discs, etc.) was his own idea after he dumped Jake years ago, or came from Danny Bennett (his manager for a brief period after Jake), but it certainly has made trainspotting a more active pastime.

NY Post reports that EC was at Manhattan's Avatar Studios on Saturday: The Todd Deatherage Band recorded an album in Manhattan's Avatar Studios, where Bruce Springsteen did "Born in the U.S.A.," while Elvis Costello was in the next room. (Submitted by John Harrison)
And some more recent action at Avatar. (by John Foyle)
